Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how HQ Parts UK Ltd, trading as Vectro ("we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Vectro website and platform at www.vectro.uk (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. "Similar technologies" include browser local storage (such as IndexedDB and localStorage) and session storage, which serve comparable purposes. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of these together unless we say otherwise.
3. Our approach
The Vectro platform is designed to be lightweight and privacy-respecting. We use only essential cookies and equivalent local storage required to operate the Service. We do not use:
- Third-party advertising or marketing cookies;
- Behavioural tracking or cross-site cookies;
- Third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.) on our application domain;
- Social media tracking pixels.
Because we use only essential cookies and equivalent storage, no consent banner is legally required under PECR for these purposes. We rely on your knowing use of the Service following acceptance of our Terms of Service.
4. Cookies and storage we use
| Name / Purpose | Type | Duration | Why it is essential |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication token (JWT) | Browser localStorage | Until logout, token expiry, or browser data is cleared | Keeps you signed in between page loads. Without it, you would have to re-enter your password on every request. |
| Offline cache (IndexedDB) | Browser IndexedDB | Until logout or browser data is cleared | Stores your active leads, quotes, products, and other working data locally so the Service remains usable when you are offline (e.g. installers in the field). See section 10 of the Privacy Policy. |
| User interface preferences | Browser localStorage | Until cleared | Remembers small preferences such as the last tab you viewed or notification dismissals, so the application opens to a sensible state. |
| Service Worker cache | Browser CacheStorage (managed by a Service Worker) | Replaced when a new version of the Service is deployed; otherwise retained | Stores the application's static files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) so the Service loads quickly on repeat visits and works offline. |
5. Third-party services that may set cookies
If you connect optional third-party features (for example, signing in with your Google Account to enable Google Calendar synchronisation), those providers may set their own cookies during the authentication flow on their own domains. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies. Vectro does not control those cookies.
6. How to control cookies
Because all cookies and storage we use are essential to the Service, disabling them will prevent the Service from working correctly (e.g. you will be signed out, the offline mode will not work). You can:
- Sign out from the Vectro app to clear authentication tokens and remove offline cache.
- Clear browser data for vectro.uk in your browser settings to remove all local storage.
- Use a private / incognito window if you do not want any data persisted between sessions.
Most browsers also let you manage cookies and storage on a per-site basis through their settings. For more information, see the help pages of your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email.
